At Trix, we possess high-quality and sustainable infrastructure. In collaboration with the City of Antwerp, we have invested heavily in improving our HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, a multi-year project concerning LED lighting, and the installation of solar panels.

Within the ‘clean water & sanitation’ section, Trix has undertaken various sustainable actions in recent years. For instance, we have been using sensor taps throughout the public areas for quite some time, and water-saving shower heads in the backstages. All water in the backstages and for staff comes from water taps intended for the hospitality industry. We recover rainwater to irrigate our plant beds. Water is a very precious resource, and we therefore use it as sparingly as possible in our operations. For instance, we are also investigating the possibility of installing waterless urinals.

Sustainable use of space in the city means that, as an organization, you share your available space as optimally as possible. In collaboration with the City of Antwerp, we have rolled out an electronic access system for this purpose, granting external parties access to our infrastructure. This way, for example, our Artists in Residence can work on their project 24/7.
