IVY FALLS + WALTHER

Ivy Falls is Fien Deman’s band. In her own universe, pastel pink pop and subtle electronics, go side by side. ‘Mean Girls’, Ivy Falls’ first EP, strolls through the flower meadow that seperates bands as Deptford Goth, Wet & Sylvan Esso. It’s her first solo project, after giving people chills with the orchestral pop of I will, I swear and collaborating with Illuminine and Satin Jackets. Wat begon in 2015 als het soloproject van Hannes Walther Cuyvers in Gent, werd al snel uitgebreid tot een volwaardige band. En wat voor één! Genres als indie, folk en alternatieve pop komen meteen ter sprake. Net zoals toonaangevende prijzen: van Pallrock in 2016 tot De Nieuwe Lichting én halve finalist in Humo's Rock Rally in 2018. Ze werden door Studio Brussel "de folky versie van Fleetwood Mac" genoemd. En ook Humo is lovend: 

"Een groep die ertoe bijdroeg dat de jury het in Edegem achteraf had over ‘de beste preselectie in vele jaren’. Ze brachten – mocht u zich daar iets bij kunnen voorstellen – elektronisch getinte folk met elektrische gitaar en geborstelde drums. Nick Drake, mocht die in 1998 geboren zijn. Zoiets. Het had iets David Lynch-achtigs."
