The Sudanese, Netherlands-based artist MAHA crafts sharp, minimalist post-punk where music and activism seamlessly merge. Her sound is raw and direct, influenced by the energy of acts like Amyl & The Sniffers and X-Ray Spex. Lyrically, she tackles topics that are often ignored: injustice, war, and the impact of profit-driven motives at the expense of innocent people.
Her debut single "No Profit" (2025) captured that essence perfectly with the lyric "Counting Money Won’t Fix Your Problem," a fierce indictment of systems of oppression. After gaining live experience at festivals such as Le Guess Who? and supporting acts like Wu-Lu and Pussy Riot, she is translating these urgent stories into a brand-new recording project in 2026.
