Monarchy heette vroeger Milke en is een synthpop-duo bestaande uit Andrew Armstrong (producer, DJ) en Ra Black (vocals, teksten), twee Australische electronica-lovers die exact 10 jaar geleden naar Londen verhuisden en sindsdien de hedendaagse elektropopscene daar onveilig maken.
In datzelfde jaar werd Monarchy trouwens meteen uitgeroepen tot 'Band of the Day' door The Guardian. Sindsdien maakte het duo al remixes voor Ellie Goulding, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue en Kelis, speelden ze op Coachella, deden ze features met Dita Von Teese en kwam begin dit jaar hun album Mid:Night uit.
