Nicole Atkins werd geboren in New Jersey en kennen we onder andere van de fantastische cover van David Bowie's Heroes. Dertien jaar geleden maakte ze voor het eerst indruk met haar pop noir debuut Neptune City. En ook op haar vorige plaat Goodnight Rhonda Lee uit 2017 wist ze te imponeren met haar sferische, donkere vintage sound op de rand van pop, country, psychedelica, soul en blues.

Nu is ze terug met haar nieuwe album Italian Ice.
