Plainhead
plainhead is a Munich-based recording project built around guitar and fragile sample loops. Moving fluidly between a solo project and a collective band, they challenge the boundaries of experimental rock and pop. After starting out as a heavy, 90s-inspired shoegaze outfit, they shifted into a quieter, acoustic world centered around clarinet, melodica, and electronic elements. Channelling the ethos of early 00s Yo La Tengo and The Notwist, their latest album 'You Are More Than A Thousand Words' (2025) delivers a surreal, unpredictable constellation of sounds. Like heavy clouds in the sky and at times, it rains.
