Tinariwen ^ML^

Al meer dan 30 jaar maakt Tinariwen, de band rond Ibrahim Ag Alhabib, bezwerende woestijnblues die nu weer zalvend, dan weer hyperhypnotiserend is. Op hun laatste albums passeren de revue: TV On The Radio, Kurt Vile, Mark Lanegan, Cass McCombs en vele anderen.  

Tinariwen maakt Touareg rock, alias elektrische gitaren, bas en percussie, die meedeinen op het ritme van de Sahara. Ze klinken authentiek, spiritueel en groovy. Een herkenbare sound met lyrics die de politiek aan de tand voelen. 

Of zoals Damon Albarn het verwoordde: "They were proper rebels, and what a wonderful way to advertise a problem to theworld: through music. You don’t have to understand the words to hear somethingdeeper in it. It’s the mood that says it all.”
