CELEBRATION OF LIFE FESTIVAL
Get ready for the 2nd edition of Celebration of Life Festival on 2 + 3 December 2022.
After a successful first edition they will turn Trix into a multiroom festival again with 6 unique stages divided over 2 nights, on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 December 2022.
Celebration of Life is a haven for the LGBTQIA+ community, for the outsiders, open-minded allies and artists who like to express themselves in a safe setting where you are not judged on your looks, gender or origin.
We are open to everyone that wants to participate to keep this safe setting and enjoy a diverse range of dance music. From hard and defiant techno, to uplifting house music, hyperpop and sing-along pop songs.
Freedom of expression and equality are of paramount importance. We offer a safe space where everyone should and can be themselves, dress how they wanna dress and be who they wanna be, without being judged on your gender or origin. Together with Trix, we strive to be this perfect place where there is no room for hatred and discrimination, or whatsoever.
A come as you are celebration that’s not about exclusivity, on the contrary: the more the better!
For fans of
Kate Mess
Kate Mess is a novice Antwerp-based hairstylist-turned-dj with an insatiable passion for pop, techno, house and eurodance. Drawing inspiration from their membership of the (LGBTQ+) Alphabet Mafia and their profound passion for pop culture, Kate curates catchy sets with infectious energy that create an unforgettable dance floor experience.
Lignac
Lignac is Pascal H., a house DJ from Antwerp. In addition to being a DJ, Lignac co-founded FANKLUB, an Antwerp-based concert organizer and event planner.
Lucia Lu
In a city of DJ transplants, the born and bred Berliner Lucia Lu is a standout in more ways than one. Lucia Lu challenges the narrow conception and antiquated stereotypes of what “Berlin techno” looks like and sounds like, and most importantly, who it is for.
HOUSE OF LUX
The Ghent drag collective House of Lux woke up the still sleeping drag scene in Ghent three years ago with the first edition of Queerly Beloved. Since then, the three-headed drag collective, consisting of Mauve Lux, Krietjur and Susan from Grindr, has not been idle.
With their party concept Fetch and the drag festival Tumble Weave, the collective wants to show the world what drag is: a big 'fuck you' according to gender standards and at the same time a celebration of the unfettered, the theatrical and the eccentric.
Mariona
Mediterranean born and Antwerp based, Mariona is focused on curating multifaceted sessions that carry a personal meaning to her, telling a story throughout her eclectic taste and always putting an emphasis on her Spanish roots and influences from the 90’s club scene at La Sala del Cel, the infamous and vanguard club from her hometown, Girona, where she attended her first parties at a very early age. Mariona is the co-founder of Radar, an upcoming brand new party concept taking place in very intimate locations around Antwerp. She is also a photographer and the co-founder of 113 MAISON.
Parfait
Naila Guiguet is Parfait! She is resident DJ at Possession, a collective she co-founded so that she would no longer have to choose between the music she loves and the parties she enjoys attending. Over the years, she has built her reputation in the techno scene and is now a key figure in the new generation of DJs fighting for the spirit of free techno parties in hangars and warehouses.
Rostgoed
Rostgoed doesn't like to feel genre-d, and neither should you, so be ready for eclectic sets celebrating queerness in different sounds, somewhere between the sweet R&B & pop songs that reigned the charts in the nillies, nightcore and contemporary beats – hard to be soft, queer to be comforting, with staccato rhythms and reworked pop classics flowing in and out of each other. Anything goes, as long as it's moving — physically or emotionally.
Romy
You know Romy best as the sweet-voiced voice of the xx. But solo she goes for "larger than life pop euphoria." She has hung up her black outfits and traded them in for bright colors. And on singles like "Lifetime" and "Lights Out," the rather chilly atmosphere of the xx gives way to exuberant Eurodance. Are you ready for a DJ set in Technicolor?
Veronika Deneuve
Veronika Deneuve used to visit all the very gay places. Those "come what may" places, where one relaxes on the axis of the wheel of life to get the feel of life from pop music and cocktails. Then Send In The Clowns came along with its siren song, to tempt her to madness. You knew all the while that her poignant smile was tinged with the sadness of a great love for euphoric house, hardgroove, eurodance, and some trance from time to time. And now she’s in to celebrate a lush life.
Waynette
From her super raw music productions to her sharp eye for fashion, Waynette is a unique character in the techno world. Upon first interaction, she is a wonderful spirit, soft spoken with a thoughtful charm. Once in her element, she is a powerful creative force, who sees no boundaries in her art - truly a multidimensional artist.
Angel 666
You may have already encountered the Belgian-Moroccan Angel 666 in the Antwerp nightlife. Sometimes behind the decks, sometimes on the dance floor. But always accompanied by the hottest pop tunes.
Angel Constellation
Angel Constellation is Andras Vleminckx, one half of Promis3. With years of experience in the electronic scene, Andras knows perfectly what it takes to play an audience.
BABYNYMPH (live)
With a sound that screams hyper-femininity, while twisting in an ironically exaggerated masculinity, BABYNYMPH’s music boasts a range of references from a deconstructed club with complex sound design to Ibiza summer hits, slutty pop, and SoundCloud rap.
Drawing predominantly from trans-feminine influences and online culture, as well as their close friends who make up the erupting party scene around them; BABYNYMPH is carving out a hyper-augmented, meticulously engineered, pornopop landscape of sound with each new release.
Cheka
Cheka's sound is characterized as a dynamic groove, which can be defined by fast-paced and hard techno, trance, and acid with many touching vocal sounds integrated.
Dana Montana
Born in Zaporozhye, Ukraine, this young DJ is introducing long awaited versatility into the club scene. Inspired by the sound and the insane party energy of the 90s, Dana is taking you on a musical journey throughout sassy sounds of Ghettotech & Electro, up into banging Techno & Hardcore. Proud resident of the infamous Drag Me To Hell nights, as well as their own concept lovegroove, Dana claimed the juicy title as the "soundtrack of dancefloor makeouts”.
DJ Paco
Straight forward Belgian artist with a deeply rooted love for "niche" music, presenting a very distinctive signature.
HE4RTBROKEN DJ's
Get in your feelings with Brussels party starters HE4RTBROKEN. DJs Liyo, Steff and Mun1x have developed a style kindred to the philosophy of their nights: emotions come first, as they are looking to create exhilarating collages, long impassioned builds up, abrupt downfalls and stirring climaxes in their mixes.
Nene H
Everything about Nene H reeks of the unexpected. The Turkish-born DJ has become a powerhouse of Berlin’s underground. She blazed a trail for SWANA, Muslim, queer and female representation. Her sets are the result of an all-consuming infatuation with music, filtered through the prodigal prowess for classical piano. She serves up truculent techno, Turkish-German Hiphop, and booty-bouncing ghetto-house.
Peachlyfe
Peachlyfe (they/them) is a hydra-sonic electronic musician that shook & seduced the Copenhagen fast-paced techno scene, claiming their seat along with the Fast Forward Agency.
Promis3
Promis3 are Andras Vleminckx & Brent Dielen, the queer Belgian duo making mind-bending and ethereal cyborg-pop for fans of the likes of Hannah Diamond and Sega Bodega. Today they drop their latest single, the mesmerising 'Don't Wanna Fall in Luv', available as a Bandcamp exclusive until Friday. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
Schacke
Based in Copenhagen, the half Danish half South Korean musician Schacke has been producing sounds of a large variety of different styles since their early teens. Starting with a background in Metal, Noise, and Industrial, Schacke has continually shown a determination to expand and evolve their universe through the exploration of electronic music. Since moving to Copenhagen around ten years ago, Schacke has run an underground label for experimental music and noise, co-owned and run the legendary Mayhem venue in Copenhagen, and released music under a variety of different aliases on local and international labels such as Kulør, Mama Told Ya, KAOS, Instruments Of Discipline and Intrepid Skin. Furthermore, Schacke launched the label Sacred Interface in 2022, focusing on high-quality techno and trance from the local scene.
As one of the original members of the Fast Forward collective and agency, Schacke has played a significant role in shaping and defining what has become known as the ‘’Copenhagen Techno Sound’’, which they helped pioneer with their first two techno records on the now-defunct Ectotherm label between 2015-2017 started by Mama Snake and Courtesy. Schacke is also a resident DJ and event organizer at the famous queer sex parties by ethical porn production company ‘’Bedside Productions’’.
TAAHLIAH
TAAHLIAH has made a name for herself as a DJ in the queer underground clubs of Berlin and Glasgow and is now conquering the electro scene with her mini-album "Angelica," in which she goes all out. Her energy and her mixes of electro and hyper pop will also make you go wild.
Zouzibabe
Meet Brussels-based Zoé Devaux. The 27-year-old DJ and founder of feminist platform Rebel, brings new beats to the dance floor under the name Zouzibabe, from RnB to house and from club to breaks.
ØTTA
Meet ØTTA, a London-based DJ and producer with roots in Portugal. Her style combines the sense of emotional depth with raw solid bass lines mixed with industrial sounds, gabber, rave classics & trance. By fusing different styles she was able to create a personal flow, this results in heavy and powerful techno that inspires rioting and raving whenever she plays.
