A few times a month, we bring you live radio from the Noordersingel, featuring in-depth conversations, unique musical performances, and a look at the wider music scene. We take you behind the scenes of Trix, where we welcome artists, residents, and music lovers.
This week, together with Deadbeat Larry & Lil Alia en Sarah Pepels & Diana Dzjamaldaeva, we're taking a look at summer at Trix! Soon, you'll be able to join us again for plenty of summer camps (Pop & Rock, FLINTA Producer, and Hip-Hop camps) and our Absolute Beginners workshop series, for anyone who wants to take their first steps in music!
Lil Alia
Deep trap beats, synths and spherical harmonies. Sensitive, definitely not-bad-ass lyrics. About cat raincoats, a little too close bond with your nintendo dog and someone who loves your never-tidy hair. Lil Alia suggests: "fluffy trap."
Throughout her life, Linde harbored an affinity for hip-hop, although she couldn't reconcile her image as a sensitive, sugary animal lover with being a rapper. Until she decided to radicalize in her atypical softness and come out with her self-invented genre 'fluffy trap'. Lil Alia is a theatrical experience. Expect a good dose of humor and self-relativization, interspersed with deep vulnerability and melancholy.
DeadBeat Larry
Deadbeat Larry is the musical by-product of a corporate burnout, after 10+ years under various monikers and bands in the UK, Larry returns to his native Belgium, where a few singles were immediately picked up by 'Abattoir Anvers' (Studio Brussels), and joined the tour went with Zwangere Guy and Lander Ghyselinck.
In May 2023 he dropped his solo EP ''Voor de centjes'' with features from Zwangere Guy, Pasi, Luie Louis, Scottie, Calya J, Joelle Francis, and more.
In Trix he is working on a new album.
Sarah Pepels
Sarah Pepels, known as a former member of Portland, is now primarily active within Glitterpaard and Ozark Henry. In addition to her music career, she is also frequently found at Trix, where she leads workshops in songwriting and vocal coaching.
Diana Dzjamaldaeva
Diana Dzjamaldaeva is a sound engineer and DJ, born in Chechnya and based in Brussels. In both her sets and engineering work, she explores the full sound spectrum while honoring genres like dubstep/140, jazz, bass, jungle, breaks, IDM, and d&b. She has performed at venues such as Fuse Brussels, CORE Festival, Rock Werchter, Rinse France, and is a regular at Kiosk Radio.
