In 2014, the world was introduced to the first babysteps of MANTIS, an instrumental freight train running on melodic yet danceable guitars, thunderous drums and clamoring basslines.

They draw influences that range from the giddiness of ASIWYFA and brutalism of Russian Circles, to the grooves of LCD Soundsystem and the italofunk that the band fervently listens to in their rehearsal basement.

The band released two EPs in 2016 that showcased their inventiveness, intensity and honesty. The music earned them spots at festivals such as Roadburn, Rock Herk and AFF.

On March 9th, the band will take its biggest step so far: release their first full-length album, lovingly titled ‘MAGNOLIA’. It is their most accomplished offering yet.

Live, MANTIS bring their self-proclaimed ‘pogojazz’ to the people, which always results in an explosion of overdriven guitars, singalong riffs and a lot of intense faces. Like, a lot.
