Quicksand

There is more than one artist named Quicksand: 1) Quicksand was an American post-hardcore band from New York City founded in 1990 by Gorilla Biscuits guitarist Walter Schreifels. The band released two widely-acclaimed albums, Slip and Manic Compression, before disbanding in 1995. In 1997, Quicksand reunited, and embarked on a successful tour in 1998 with Deftones. Towards the end of the year they entered the studio to begin work on a follow-up to Manic Compression, but tensions within the band caused them to split up for good. Walter went on to form Rival Schools. Sergio went on to tour and record with the Deftones to fill in while bassist Chi Cheng recovered from a severe car accident, eventually becoming a fulltime member. 2) Quicksand were an obscure Welsh psychedelic and progressive rock band active in the early 1970s. The members were Robert Collins, Jimmy Davies, Phil Davies and Anthony Stone. They released two singles, Passing By/Cobblestones (Carnaby CNS 4015) in 1970 and Time To Live/Empty Street, Empty Heart (Dawn DNS 1046) in 1973. Their only album, Home Is Where I Belong (Dawn DNLS 3056), was released in 1974. 3) Quicksand (Zivo blato) is a Croatian heavy metal band. It was founded in Split in 1998 by folk/rock singer Sinisa Vuco. It's a trio consisting of Sinisa Vuco - which takes the stage name Vasilije Mitu (guitar/vocals), Veseli Sir (bass), and Mala Planina (drums). "Mala Planina" is actually Mirjan Jovanovic - "Toso", a famous drummer from Split. Read more on Last.fm. No Joy can

The doomy shoegaze band No Joy began in November 2009, when guitarist/vocalist Jasamine White-Gluz was living in Los Angeles and guitarist/vocalist Laura Lloyd was living in Montreal. The pair wrote songs as long-distance collaborators until White-Gluz moved to Montreal and they could play shows together. The band’s moody, interlocking guitars and ethereal vocals allowed them to fit on bills with bands as diverse as Wavves, Harvey Milk, and Besnard Lakes. Meanwhile, Mexican Summer signed No Joy and issued their self-titled 7", which was produced by Miracle Fortress' Graham Van Pelt in 2010. The band expanded to a four-piece and enlisted the Raveonettes' Sune Rose-Wagner to mix their full-length album, Ghost Blonde, which was released in November 2010. Their second album Wait To Pleasure was released in April 2013 to critical acclaim. No Joy followed up Wait To Pleasure with an EP released November 5 2013 entitled "Pastel and Pass Out" http://nojoy.bandcamp.com/ https://www.facebook.com/nojoymusic
