Under the Visitations banner Sound in Motion in collaboration with Trix and De Studio will show similarities, differences and cross-pollinations between local and international musicians. Due to the pandemic the first two editions of Visiations 2021 will support and work with artists residing in Belgium.

For this first Visitations edition of 2021 Audrey Lauro (FR, alto sax), Hanne De Backer (BE, baritone sax), Sylvain Debaisieux (BE, tenor sax), Johannes Eimermacher (DE, alto sax), Frans Van Isacker (BE, alto sax, 1 day only), João Lobo (PT, drums) and Soet Kempeneer (BE, bass, electronics) accepted the challenge to immerse themselves in an adventurous musical three day residency at Trix.

While Lauro, De Backer, Debaisieux, Van Isacker and Lobo share a common background in Eimermacher’s project La Nueé, they now invite Kempeneer – a young bass player and electronics manipulator – to the group allowing them to expand on existing ideas and improvisations alike in their never ending musical quest. Guy Peters (Enola, JazzLab) interviews this ardent group of musicians on their passion and urge to find new ways of making music.

With a free Visitations access code you can enjoy the concerts and an interview recorded during this three day residency at Trix. This Visitations event will be available online at De Studio’s vimeo platform from Saturday March 13th until Saturday March 20th 2021. You can enjoy all the concerts and the interview whenever and as long as you want.
