Media Residents
Every year, Trix selects fresh media residents: young visual creators working with video and photography. For an entire year, they capture life at Trix while receiving feedback, coaching, and the room to experiment.
From the shows on our stages to the workshops in the workspace. They create photo and video series and document events, while collaborating closely with our graphic and musical residents to spark creative cross-overs. This way, they tell the story of Trix in a visually captivating way and give the audience an authentic look at the artists, the stage, and the unique atmosphere in our music house.
These residents are selected through an open call launched once a year (in July). The selection is made by Trix's artistic and marketing teams, supplemented by external experts.
We select creators who:
- are actively working with photography and video
- are at the start of their career
- need space to experiment with photography and/or video
- have a clear goal in mind: this can be a defined project, but you may just as well focus on pure experiment and your own development as an artist
- have a link with music
WHO IS IT FOR?
Young visual creators (photographers and videographers) at the start of their career from the greater Antwerp area.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
- a full year of free access to Trix and all concerts and workshops, as long as they are not sold out
- access to Trix during the day for remote work
- €150 (excl. VAT) compensation per shift
- space to experiment in a creative environment
- you will become part of the larger media team at Trix
- monthly coaching and tailored feedback from industry experts
- you have the opportunity to shape your own project

- networking opportunities with artists and fellow creators
- an exhibition at the end of the residency
WHAT DO WE ASK IN RETURN?
- At least 2 (paid) shifts per week during busy months, capturing content (photo or video) of our shows and the activities in our workspace
- You are enthusiastic about capturing the broad inner workings of Trix
- You own your own gear (camera, computer & editing software)
