Staf Smets is a trained journalist working in the cultural sector. Within his photographic practice, he moves freely between different genres: from the raw energy of concert and nightlife photography to the simplicity of portraits and the humor found in street scenes. At Trix, he steps away from traditional concert photography by experimenting with composition and non-conventional editing styles. Shooting exclusively from the audience, he searches for a more artistic translation of the live moment.
