Chelsea Wolfe
Helaas moet Chelsea Wolfe haar concert van maandag 23 maart verplaatsen naar een nog nader te bepalen datum. Ze stelt de rest van haar Europese tour uit vanwege de situatie omtrent het Coronavirus. Onderaan vind je het officiële statement ivm deze verplaatsing.
Reeds aangekochte tickets blijven geldig. Van zodra we de nieuwe datum van het concert weten, krijg je opnieuw een mailtje van Toneelhuis. Past de nieuwe datum dan toch niet voor je? Dan betalen we je ticket(s) volledig terug. We doen er momenteel alles aan om deze nieuwe datum zo snel mogelijk vast te leggen.

De doom folk en goth wave van Chelsea Wolfe refereert afwisselend aan post-punk, black metal en blues, met telkens ijle en onheilspellende zanglijnen. Haar unieke sound komt voort uit visuele en literaire invloeden van filmmakers als Ingmar Bergman en David Lynch, Sovjetpropaganda en fin-de-siècle literatuur. Muzikaal zijn er duidelijk invloeden van Jarboe, PJ Harvey, Zola Jesus, Sonic Youth, Julie Christmas en Grouper hoorbaar. Dat totaalpakket maakt van haar een uiterst intrigerende en spannende muzikante.
In september 2019 bracht ze nieuw meesterwerk Birth of Violence uit. Een plaat die erg goed onthaald werd en waarop ze haar meest duistere kant reïncarneert, bloedstollend mooi maar ijzig en gitzwart.

Jonathan Hulten se
Als de Zweed Jonathan Hulten niet op het podium staat als gitarist/songwriter van occult ensemble Tribulation, maakt ie solo en akoestisch donkere, Nick Drake-achtige folk met diepe, duistere lagen. Ongeveer een jaar geleden kwam zijn album Chants From Another Place uit, waarover ie zelf zei: "More than anything I want it to be a platform for art where I can be completely free and explore new uncharted territory as well as collaborate with other artists, dancers, performers or whatever it might be in the future. It is as much about the artistic vision as it is about the actual music."
