Divide and Dissolve
Divide and Dissolve is the project of Takiaya Reed (Black and Cherokee), where crushing instrumental soundscapes merge with a radical message: Indigenous Sovereignty. Their music is nothing short of overwhelming, dark, dissonant, and deeply emotional, delivered through guitar, saxophone, synths, and thunderous drums. Following their widely acclaimed album 'Gas Lit' (2021, Invada), praised by the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, the duo firmly cemented their place with 'Systemic' (2023), which CVLT Nation named Doom Metal Album of the Year.
Divide and Dissolve have already performed at Roskilde, Desert Daze, Berghain, and in 2024 opened the catwalk show for Miu Miu. This fall, they embark on a major headline tour, with stops including the Venice Biennale, MASS MoCA, and of course, an unmissable night at Trix.
"Anyone who thinks activism can’t be expressed through shredding guitars and thunderous drums has clearly never listened to Divide and Dissolve."
