Jan Verstraeten

Jan Verstraeten hails from the punk and hardcore scene in Ghent, where he embraced the DIY spirit with basement recordings and handmade merchandise. Initially active in contemporary art, he returned to music for its raw, universal connection. His debut EP 'Cheap Dreams' (2019) was a soundtrack for an unfinished film project, followed by 'Violent Disco' (2022), an album inspired by 70s cinema and fantastic creatures. With 'Wolfman', his latest track, he creates hypnotic worlds of poetic lyrics and surreal imagery. In addition to music, he continues to paint, draw, and sculpt, always searching for the strange and unexpected.

Originally conceived as a single 58-track, four-hour-long piece, streaming limitations forced Vanneste to divide it into three parts, which still flow seamlessly into one another. 'Escapades I' marks the release of the first installment.
