Karate

Karate is an indie rock band from Boston, formed in 1993. Consisting of Geoff Farina (vocals, guitar), Jeff Goddard (bass), and Gavin McCarthy (drums), they blend indie, jazz, and post-rock influences into a distinct sound. With albums like "The Bed Is in the Ocean" (1998) and "Unsolved" (2000), they gained critical acclaim for their intricate compositions and introspective lyrics. Though never mainstream, they earned a dedicated following for their intense live shows. However, in 2005 the band split due to Geoff Farina's hearing problems.

In 2022 Chicago-based record label The Numero Group reissued Karate's entire catalog. The response from fans was so overwhelming that the band decided to reunite for a short tour. And that left them wanting more, because the band is now working on new music and will go on a short tour in December that brings them to Iceland, Great Britain and... Belgium!
