This is Nelcon, the new superstar of Utrecht’s hip-hop scene. On his debut album Nelconic (2021), you’ll hear fresh bangers, unconventional flows, grime, flint, trap, and big names. The album was released through Burning Fik, the offbeat label run by Faberyayo and Abel from Hang Youth. A year later, Nelcon was already performing at the WOO HAH! festival, and around the same time he dropped the mixtape H.I.G.W.I.M., which features Convo (feat. Bokoesam) — arguably the most underrated track of 2022. Since then, he’s released another mixtape (De Nelcon Mixtape) and a new single: geitje. Nelcon has recorded tracks with artists such as Bas Bron, Zeldzame, and Gotu Jim. As Nelcon himself told 3voor12 about his flow: “In a few years, everyone will be rapping like this!”
