Prostitute
Prostitute is an experimental post-punk/Arab rock band from Michigan, blending raw energy with sharp political and cultural themes. What began as a lockdown project quickly evolved into an unstoppable live act, fusing religious symbolism, Arab influences, and razor-sharp riffs into a dangerously compelling sound. With their debut 'Attempted Martyr' and shows from Detroit to New York, they built a reputation that is as provocative as it is boundary-pushing.
On stage, the band unleashes a wall of sound and rhythm, with Moe’s sermons and vocals intertwining with crushing distortion. As they work on their sophomore album, delving even deeper into electronic textures and Arabic dance rhythms, Prostitute continues to refine their uncompromising, genre-defying sound.
“Moe and Kaster’s lyrics can lacerate with image alone… To call Attempted Martyr ‘intense’ is somehow still underselling it.” – Pitchfork
It It Anita
With their ’90s Noise rock riffs and primal screams coming from every fibre of their being, IT IT ANITA might seem pretty simplistic. But if you take the time to really listen, you’ll find some subtle nuances and intriguing depth. Besides seething fire, there’s also intense desire, crippling fear, anger and restlessness.
After their album Mouche, it’s time for new music, which they’ll be unveiling on April 22 in Trix.
