Black Market Karma

Black Market Karma can be loosely described as psychedelic rock. Hailing from London and now residing on the South coast of England, the band has 9 albums in its catalogue, 8 of which were recorded and released between 2012 & 2016 while band leader and multi instrumentalist Stanley Belton was living, writing and recording in the band’s own ‘Cocoon’ studio. In the years since he has maintained this workflow, quietly crafting a slew of new records, the first of them ‘The Technicolour Liquid Audio Machine’ being gradually released track by track over the last 12 months with a video accompanying each. An instrumental, chewy, nostalgic, beat driven, lo fi opus made during and as a soundtrack to the lockdown of 2020. A chronological document of the creative process. Next in line is ‘Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas’ landing in early 2022. He has also been working on collaborations with Pete Kember AKA Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3) Joakim Ahlund of ‘’Cesars’ fame, Tess Parks & The Underground Youth. BMK’s sound is thick and colourful. It’s core being rooted in 60’s guitar and pop music, with broader flavours of Psychedelia and Fuzzed out tones. They’ve also incorporated touches of Folk, Blues, Traditional Indian Music, Hip Hop influenced Grooves and Lo Fi Electronica
